13.02.2025 | IG Metall Berlin is deeply shocked by the suspected attack on a demonstration organized by the trade union ver.di on Thursday morning in Munich.
On Thursday morning, a car plowed into a group of several people at Stiglmaierplatz in Munich. According to the police, a demonstration by the ver.di trade union was taking place at that time. Ver.di is the key trade union for Germany’s public sector. The fire department reports that at least 28 people were injured in the attack, including some with serious or life-threatening injuries, as reported by sources such as Handesblatt.
IG Metall deeply shocked by the attack
"We are deeply shocked and very saddened by the suspected attack on our colleagues from ver.di during their demonstration in Munich today," said Jan Otto, President of IG Metall Berlin. "Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all the victims, their families, and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them. In this difficult time, we stand united as trade unions and thank all the first responders for their efforts."
