Are you a works council member in the tech industry? Don’t miss the Tech Workers Conference 2025, taking place on April 11, 2025, from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm in Berlin. Organized by IG Metall, ver.di, and the Berlin Tech Workers Coalition, this is the third edition of the conference, following the incredible success of the first two events in 2022 and 2023. If you’re involved in a works council in the tech sector, this is an essential event for you!
Why Attend?
The conference is designed specifically for works council members like you, who represent the diverse, often English-speaking workforce in tech companies. As technology companies continue to grow and evolve, so too do the challenges faced by works councils. With an increasing reliance on virtual meetings and digital infrastructure, the issues faced by tech workers and their representatives are unique, and it’s crucial to stay informed and connected.
At this year’s conference, you will have the opportunity to meet new faces, exchange ideas with fellow works council members, and gain valuable insights into the most pressing issues in tech workplaces today. Whether you’re tackling day-to-day concerns or navigating larger, systemic challenges, this conference will provide the tools, resources, and knowledge you need.
What’s on the Agenda?
The Tech Workers Conference 2025 offers a full day of valuable sessions designed for learning and networking. The morning will kick off with a keynote and roundtable discussions on key challenges facing tech works councils. In the afternoon, participants can attend workshops on topics such as performance improvement plans, the role of unions and works councils, stock options, remote work agreements, downsizing, and remuneration rights. The day will conclude with a panel discussion on workplace discrimination and the gender pay gap, followed by a reflection phase and a casual get-together to network with fellow attendees.
What You’ll Gain
This conference will be an invaluable opportunity to connect with other works council members from tech companies, share experiences, and gather practical insights. Whether you’re dealing with legal challenges, performance improvement plans, stock options, or navigating the complex world of remote and hybrid work, the workshops and discussions will provide actionable takeaways. Plus, you’ll learn about the latest legal developments and trends, ensuring you’re ahead of the curve in your role.
